Ever wanted to show your fellow students your awesome cooking skills or introduce them to your magnificent native cuisine? Now is your chance! Combine forces with your countrymen or cook your masterpiece by yourself. We hope to see many different dishes/snacks from around the world!
Globe provides some alcohol-free drinks. Please prepare your dishes at home as Solu has very limited cooking possibilities. Heating up the food is possible. It would be great if you give a shout-out of what you're planning to make so we don't end up with 10 potato salads. ;) When serving the foods it would be ideal to have a small note that says what it is, who made it, where it's from and what's in it (because of allergies, vegetarians, etc.). It is recommended to arrive on time as the table will be made during the first hour. We will start serving at 19.00 sharp so that everyone has a chance to try everything. Sauna will be warm after eating! To make this event special we might organize some live music if enough interest shows. If you can sing or play an instrument, please send a message to [email protected]. Tickets can be bought from Solu counter for 2€ and 3€ at the door, as usual. Take your tummy around the world! See you there!

G.L.O.B.E.- the student organisation of the Degree Program in Energy and Environmental Engineering is organizing an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday 1.4.2015 for all the students and staff of TAMK!
Over 100 chocolate eggs and lollipops have been hidden in various buildings of our school. Enjoy, and let the search begin! Happy Easter Holidays from all of us in G.L.O.B.E.! Join us at Pohjolankatu 18-20! So this time we will not visit Moreenia building, but we will have a site visit instead! We will tour an apartment building and get to know its heating system solutions.
In the site will be Ilari Rautanen and Antero Mäkinen from EcoFellows, the chair person from the board of the apartment building, plus an energy expert from Enermix (Renja Yrjönen might come as well). The expert will have a short presentation about the techniques. We will tour the boiler room, perhaps switchboard as well, and we will be presented with district heating system, solar collectors (on the roof), and exhaust air heat pump (PILP) system. Please NOTE however: This excursion is taking place on your free time, so from TAMK's point of view the insurances do not apply. So if you join, please be careful - TAMK won't compensate if you get hurt. The building has 7 floors and to see the solar panels you need to climb some ladders (and up there, there are no railings – but you won’t fall easily though), BUT of course, you have the choice of not climbing up there, and just come and see the other stuff. Only 20 people get to come, because there's limited amount of space in the boiler room and such. If you want to join, please enroll by Sun 22nd of March (22.3) by messaging me (through whichever you prefer, scroll down). From the link below you can see the spots that are available! And of course you are willing to join and come, so meet me infront of the building at 7.50. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oK76aBJWa2QkF6ABBGq3pvAdMGqQr96UjaP1bhmoiZ4/edit?pli=1#gid=0 Hope to see you there! And please remember to enroll! BR, Krista Haapamäki, G.L.O.B.E. chairperson Work hard play hard. That seems to be the spirit of ENVE students. Because immediately after the holidays, we were all eager to join an informative seminar about the sustainable promoting environmental driven company, EcoFellows. The seminar started with some general information about EcoFellows, their area of operation, the history, how many employees they have and what they do. And then it continues to information about Tammerkoski, the rapid that utilize hydropower which connects Nasijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. Last but not least, the company talks in detail about their "rane" project. After an active Q&A session, the ENVE students walk around the room where various past control panels of the Tammerkoski were displayed. All in all, it was a great experience and GLOBE hopes to make more events similar to this for the future! For those of you who missed the excursions, you can find the presentation below :D
